Influences

Apart from the '''Soul Survivor''' festival our gigs seem to be weddings to which we are invited by couples who were guests at our previous wedding gigs! Our Dad is slightly different from the usual function bands. We hope to get a bit involved with the audience, and occasionally, when appropriate, an element of Christian worship is noticeable in the music. Certainly, we heartily enjoy everything we do, and the trade-off for this, is that the material is al stuff that '''we''' like, so you might be disappointed if we don't do your expected typical songs. Also, like the Staple Singers of old, we try to choose material that is uplifting, if not specifically ''Christian'', at least in general attitude, lyrics and spirit.

Our Dad is listening to: Anne Peebles, Aretha Franklin, Average White Band, Bill Withers, Frank Sinatra, Brand New Heavies, Cab Calloway, The Chain Gang, The Crusaders, Dizzy Gillespie, Donald Fagen, Earl King, Eric Clapton, Incognito, Isley Brothers, Jamiroquai, Jim Reeves, Jimi Hendrix, John Scofield, Joss Stone, Julian Joseph, Incognito, Macey Gray, Miles Davis, Otis Redding, Steely Dan, James Brown, Herbie Hancock, Nina Simone, Robben Ford, Staples Singers, Stevie Wonder, Tower of Power, Wilson Pickett, and the Young Disciples.
